Fluoro Rubber Sponge - Continuous bubble type

Why was Mitsufuku Foam selected?
- Continuous air bubbles allow use in a vacuum
- Allows air to pass through, but not light
- Softness of freely moving air bubbles
- Passed outgas test at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)!
Experimental equipment using this product was installed on the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA) "KOUNOTORI5" (launched on August 19, 2015). For more information on KOUNOTORI5, please refer to the JAXA special page.
AF-OP and AF-OP-50C are fluororubber sponges with a continuous bubble structure featuring heat resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, and low outgassing. Customers can choose from two types with different bubble sizes to suit their needs.

1. what is a continuous bubble?
There are two main types of sponges: those that allow water to pass through and those that do not. As the name suggests, a sponge with continuous air bubbles is called a continuous bubble sponge, and dishwashing sponges are well-known for this. On the other hand, independent bubbles are sponges with independent bubbles that do not allow water to pass through, like a beat board. Click here to see the fluorine rubber sponge with independent bubbles.
2. heat-, chemical-, oil-, and solvent-resistant continuous cell sponge
AF-OP and AF-OP-50C are fluoroelastomer sponges with excellent heat resistance of 230°C and excellent resistance to chemicals such as benzene, toluene, and xylene, and fuel oil such as FuelC, taking advantage of the features of fluoroelastomer.
3. Soundproofing properties
AF-OP50C, MF-75P -> Exhibits characteristics similar to polyurethane sponge.

*Sound absorption increases in proportion to thickness. Material with greater density has a peak at lower frequencies.
4. low outgassing sponge
Our fluoroelastomer sponges do not contain siloxanes and emit much less than silicone sponges. Our unique compounding design and processing method reduces outgassing during use, making it possible to use the sponge in environments where outgassing is not desired, such as semiconductors.
Contains no siloxanes and generates significantly less outgassing than silicone!

6. Examples of Applications
AF-OP can be used as a cushion or filter by taking advantage of its continuous bubble structure. In addition, because of its chemical and oil resistance, it can be used in various ways, such as adsorbing and wiping off oil and chemical solutions.
- Cushioning material for outboard testing equipment
- Filters for industrial machinery
- Various packing/gaskets, etc.
